Under a White Sky

In looking to expand my range as a designer, I wanted a project that would enable me to use analog media to create a piece of design. After finishing the book Under A White Sky, I decided to redesign the cover to express the somewhat abstract and ominous conclusion the book leaves you with.

I used found elements from nature and dipped them in white paint to nod to the stratospheric aerosol injection, which is explained towards the end of the book. The final cover feels artful, clever, and curated to align with Elizabeth Kolberts’ writing style.
